So I was home today with four sickies, but they weren’t really all that sick. Very little fever, no more puking, no coughing – just a few sore throats which we don’t care to share. We enjoyed listening to church online; we heard much about the valleys of life, which brought to mind this song that I’ve wanted to post for awhile now. I don’t know where it’s from or who wrote it, but it’s one of our favorites to play & sing as a family.
There’s a place on life’s highway called the valley,
Where burdens often bring me to my knees.
In the middle of this valley there’s a river,
Where God sends the answer to my pleas.
And the sun’s still shining in the valley,
And a little trace of heaven can be found.
And it’s always raining at the river,
Showers of blessings pouring down.
If by chance, I never leave this valley,
Somehow the Lord will give me grace to stand.
And I know, that on some great tomorrow,
I’ll trade it for a place in glory land.
And the sun’s still shining in the valley,
And a little trace of heaven can be found.
And it’s always raining at the river,
Showers of blessings pouring down.
Yes, there’s showers of blessings pouring down.
Sometimes it’s difficult to see the showers of blessings when we’re in the valleys, but they are still there.
